Motivational quote
"If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive." --Eleonora Duse

Welcome
I put together a video this week for "Michelle's Waltz," a solo piano work from 1995, using the FRAX app (iPad) to produce a fractal image and Deep Dream Generator (.com) to modify the source image using various "styles." Then in my video editor (Filmora) I sequenced the various images and used a cross-fade transition effect to create the appearance one image that constantly morphs through all the variations.
This week I've also added extra thunder to " Ancient Ritual" to make it more realistic with low-end power. I've also enhanced the ocean waves (shoreline surf) for better overall ambience and realism. This technology was not available to me when it was originally recorded (25yrs ago). Click on the cover art below to experience the difference!
...and for this week's finale, here's the result, " Eternal Night" (new release) of harvesting the dark sections of "Doorways" (as we talked about last week with the release of "Eternal Light," the uplifting sections of "Doorways" from 1989). Upon review, the "Hell" section was long enough by itself for a reasonable length track,
so I abandoned the idea of adding the others. It didn't really make sense, anyway, because they are too thematically unrelated (technology terror, war, and social disgrace). SO...we have presented here a gruesome journey through Hell... (collect your courage and click on the cover art below)
The cover art was generated from an abstract image of blue bubbles (not that you can tell). Multiple stylized layers of Deep Dream Generator
enhancements were composited to achieve the end result. Below are a few of the individual images that were used, starting with the original:
Original, Blue Bubbles Image
The last one was created from using my " Ignition" cover art as the "style" applied to the original image. You can probably see the
influence--how the AI interpreted one image into the other...
I also rearranged the layers to create this alternate cover (below). If you look closely at roughly the center of the image (just up from the letter "L" in "Eternal," you can almost see the upper half of a man-shaped figure with horns! Spooky!! I'd love to know which one you like best!
Next week I still hope to share with you a sneak peek at the upcoming "Fire Circle" album art. I'm getting close to it's release. I did a few leveling adjustments to improve the transition between each track this week. AND... I still also hope to compile a few of my space-themed tracks
for an EP in the next few weeks.
As always, thanks for listening (and sharing)!
